Welcome to the Westminster Baseball Association

2020 Season Update

We want to make sure everyone has the same information about the current situation and what the plan is for practices and the season at this point. We understand this is a very trying time and we hope everyone will be patient with us as we are in uncharted waters at this point.  The WBA Board is monitoring the situation as we receive information from Park and Rec’s as well.

Our plan at this point is to follow the school schedule and closings.  We plan to start practices, for our T-Ball, Instructional, Minors and Majors on Saturday April 4th and then the season to start on Saturday May 2nd, with no opening day parade.  We will just plan to start games that Saturday.

For our 13-15 age group we are discussing when we will be able to have evaluations to form teams.  Most likely it will be the week when schools come back in session.  We will then need to create teams quickly, depending in what the Babe Ruth league decides to do with their season.  We would guess that it will be pushed back as well but they are still talking to decide what they want to do.  This will also hinge on what the individual counties decide to do in regards to each Park and Rec’s group.

For our travel teams, the plan for starting practices is the same and will also plan to start April 4th. The season start date will depend on MABA and what the other baseball programs are able to do based on their Park and Rec’s group.  Our travel coordinator will be in contact with the coaches as we receive more information from MABA.

Please know we are doing everything we can to be ready for the season once we get the go ahead, which we hope is no longer then the two weeks.  If it extends longer then we will make sure everyone is aware of our plan and how we will move forward.

We hope all of our WBA families stay safe in these crazy times and we look forward to getting everyone onto the baseball fields to play this great game we all love so much.

Our Program

The purpose of the Westminster Baseball Association (WBA) is to operate a sound baseball program for boys and girls in Carroll County.  Westminster Baseball Association is an "All VOLUNTEER" organization which is essential in order to maintain a quality program while keeping participation fees affordable. Our past and present volunteers have put in countless hours and hard work to make your son's/daughter's playing experience enjoyable.  We are also proud members of and are sponsored by the Carroll County Recreation and Parks.

Mission Statement

Westminster Baseball Association aspires to be an outstanding educational-athletic organization that endeavors to provide a high-quality experience to every participant.  Using the sport of baseball as an instrument, our goal is to help all the young players develop positive character traits and values that will aid success in the rest of their lives.  Working with parents to provide a proper environment for learning the game of baseball, the WBA program also strives to assist in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being by advocating the virtues of character, courage, sportsmanship, and loyalty.
